| Okay. I have to get off my chest how totally awsome I think Civil War is.
In case you don't know, Civil War is Marvel's new epic universe-spanning 'event'. What has happened is a group of 'heros' called the New Warriors bust into the hideout of four big super-villians to boost the ratings of their reality show. Nitro explodes the area around them when they're attacked, and a national crisis the size of 9/11 takes place. What spawns from this is a superhero registration act, which will force all superheros to register with the government or be taken down. This splits the superhero community in half, one half believing going legit is a good thing so a bunch of nobodys does this sort of thing ever again. This half is led by Iron Man. The other half believe that superheros shouldn't be forced into registering. This half is led by Captain America, after he refuses to take down heros who refuse to register because he believes the government shouldn't make the good guys into enemies just because they don't want to register.
Now, I've never been much of an American comic book geek. My thing has been manga. But this is freakin' AMAZING. It's flawlessly written- even I, one not familar with some of the heros and CERTAINLY not all their backgrounds and current happenings in their 'lives'- was easily able to get into the story and follow along with it. The art done in the main line of the series (It's split off into 13 different takes on the same story) is AMAZING. Like, WOW. The penciler, Steve McNiven is amazing. There are a few shots that are so gorgeously and painstakenly done, I just sit and stare in wonder. And his colorist, Morry Hollowell? A magic man with Photoshop. I mean, the two work so well together. Sure, the inkers deserve good credit too, as lines are very important, but I can only acknowlege his greatness after I get over how beautiful the intial image is. I mean, they're all so...wow. Like a level I could never hope to reach. My favorite shot is in the third issue where Captain America and Iron Man are fighting and Iron Man is (sadly) taking down Captain America. And it's so gorgeous. I mean...damn. There are parts of the picture I feel like I could TOUCH, but it still retains it grity comic feel. I love it. Just love it.
So, I am starting to wish comics weren't so expensive, 'coz most of the collections are hard-back and around 30 bucks each. With the wish list I'm starting, it's gonna get damn expensive. Damn you, Marvel.
And for future reference, I side with Captain America. Even though I see the logic in the registration and don't quite see the major problem (unless the gov. makes you show the world who you are- that's dangerous for the people you love), the government shouldn't be trying to take down the heros who don't want to register. They still save lives. Leave 'em alone.

| Yeah, I'm back in Tulsa. Woo!
But that's not really what I wanted to talk about. I have some thoughts going over in my head I think I'd like to write down.
I just finished talking with my brother, who went to go see that new Will Ferril movie tonight with some friends, and he told me that they didn't go see it because of some complication with his friend's 'hot' girlfriend. He continued to say there were a lot of 'hot' girls there, all girls his friend met on MySpace. I thought that I was a little sad he meets everyone off MySpace, and he said it wasn't, that it was awsome because he met all his girlfriends there, and he's had around 20-ish recently. I commented on how sad THAT was, because if he had so many, they probably didn't mean much. He said not to act 'all-knowing', that they were for experience.
Now, I COULD go on about how he's one to talk about acting all-knowing, because he's been increasingly arrogant recently. But I won't.
What caught my attention was how he refered to the relationships as practice. It kinda showed me how different our views in thinking are. I think it would be a horrible thing to get into a relationship for 'practice'. Those feelings there, they aren't something to be treasured. They aren't...real.
I mean, I wouldn't know, as I would never get into a relationship for something so shallow as 'practice', so I can only assume...
And I know I sound very arrogant, assuming other people's emotions, but I'm trying to talk from a sort of objective view on the issue. I think. It's not really objective if my emotions are involved, is it?
But wouldn't that be something empty? What does it matter if you're a good kisser? What does it matter if you're a good screw? If you build up a good relationship with someone, these things wouldn't matter. If you have a REAL relationship, one not for 'practice', then how good you kiss shouldn't matter- it's that your lips are their's that is the draw. Same with the screwing and whatnot. And if that's not the case, then that person is far too shallow at the moment to build a good relationship.
And what if the person you're with doesn't see this as 'practice'? What if the person truly wanted to be with you? Is such a vain idea as a 'practice' relationship worth trampling on the feelings of another?
I've always seen relationships as beautiful things to be cherished, something that one could hold onto. But the idea of a 'practice' relationship just tarnishes the whole idea. So, what's the point? Just to be in a relationship? I've never understood why some people just NEED to be in a relationship at all times. I supppose it's because I've always been mentally independent, but I've never needed someone to complete me, or understood that need. I am my own woman, and need no man to make me whole.
I am woman. Hear me roar. XP
I suppose now I do sound all-knowing...but I'm just voicing my opinion because I truly don't understand the function of a 'practice' relationship. So, everyone- agree? Disagree? If you disagree, I'd REALLY like to hear your logic, because I seriously don't understand, and I would like to.
Oh, and by the way- Rose by ANNA is the BEST SONG EVER! Go listen to it at- www.myspace.com/kukutehditz.
....Yes, I know it's my MySpace. Shut up. I want more comments. >>

| Yeah. Finals are this week. I'm starting to get real stressed out.
Drawing won't be a problem. It may be a 15-20 hour still life, but I can do that. I don't need to rely on other people for it.
Video Production is a team effort. Which, is not going so hot. I love
the people I'm in a group with, I'm just starting to think they're not
the best people to team with. One, who plays perhaps THE most vital
part in the production, doesn't seem to put forth much effort. I still
don't know if he has the two actors we need. Or if he got permission
for the little girl to be in the film. From what he's told me, he
hasn't put forth much effort over this program. He's a great guy, but
he worries me. The other one cares too much. See, in making a film, you
have your role. Your purpose is to just do YOUR role, and only make
suggestions or interject when something is wrong with YOUR role. But
she likes to tell us things when, frankly, it is not her place. When
one does that, it distracts the person in their line of work, and the
problem only gets worse. Again, she is also a great person, but far
too...controlling. And that bothers me.
Also, I'm worried about the story. I'm afraid it's not creative enough.
See, the theme is modern-day fairy tales. You take a fairy tale. You
make it modern. Our fairy tale is the Golden Fish. Basically, a poor
fisher family finds a talking fish, and to thank them for saving his
life, he grants their wishes. But, they get too greedy, and he takes it
all away. Our story is a man who's life isn't so great. He saves the
life of a little girl, and she starts granting his wishes. But he gets
too greedy, and so she takes it all away. I mean, not many changes were
made. I know I'm going to be biased, but I wish we had done my fairy
tale. Bear said he liked mine. It would have been easier to do. And
creativity and originality is half the score...
Anyways, the worst of it will be over tomorrow, because we're finishing
shooting tomorrow. But still. I'm stressed, and while I love it here
and I know it won't be this bad when I come back because we're going
twice as fast as normal college, I wanna come home just to get away
from my god damned finals.
I don't think I'll EVER complain about homework or finals in high school EVER again.

| Ooohhh, and boy do I have ghost stories now. For Savannah is the 2nd
most haunted city in the US, surpassed only by Salem. Which is KINDA a
given.
First off, the place where I'm staying, O-House? Haunted. My floor
isn't THAT haunted...if there are ghosts in my room, they're not bad.
The only spooky things that happen is sometimes at night I'll hear
sounds like a bed moving coming from the room next to us. But I asked
the girl, and she hasn't moved her furniture since she moved in. She
also told me she heard similar sounds coming from MY room. And I don't
move my bed around at 2 in the morning. Some girl was saying it might
be pipes, but the sound is coming not from above (where the pipes are)
but the wall. And I doubt two people would have messed up our sense of
hearing THAT badly. And sometimes when I take a bath at night, the
shower curtain will blow in like there's a breeze in the room. At
first, I thought (and maybe this really IS the reason and I have freaky
good timing) that is was just the vent, but the vent is small, and I
don't know if it could blow in THAT much. And last night, after hearing
all the O-House ghost stories, I thought it might be a ghost, so I said
'Real immature', and it STOPPED. It was crazy. This hasn't happened to
anyone else I've talked too, though. And the same girl who thought the
moving noises were coming from my room said sometimes real late at
night past curfew that she'll see a shadow of a person walking in front
of her window, but won't hear footsteps. So, my hall MIGHT be haunted,
but it's not like I'm going to get killed or anything. If they're
there, they're friendly and that's cool with me, I guess. I'll just
have to get used to them. They're people too. I just can't see them.
And they're dead. o.o
But the third floor, the boy's floor, has had more cases of hauntings,
according to Beck. But I suspect she was lying to us because girls
would most likely scare more then boys. She told me that she heard
Marble Boy all the time. (I'll get into him later.) And that one night,
her friend heard knocking from Beck's wall and thought 'Huh, it's
awfully late for her to be hanging a picture!'. Then the knocking
started on the OTHER wall. Then it came from her bathroom. Then from
the ceiling. Then from the front door. She thought it was just a prank,
so she threw open the door and yelled 'Stop it!', but no one was there.
And all the knocking stopped at once. Beck heard the knocking too, but
just coming from the other girl's wall. And the boys said that often,
after curfew, they'd see someone run outside their door, but because of
the blinds they'd never see their face, but they'd never come back.
Which is strange, because all the halls dead-end to a staircase that
they would hear people running on. They thought it was just some
asshole. My friend Will says he'll check next time it happens to see if
it's a ghost or some asshole.
But the worst floor? The 6th. Anyone wanting to go to SCAD, NEVER stay
on the 6th floor of O-House. NEVER NEVER NEVER. Because Heels the
Hooker, Marble Boy (I think), and the jumper all died up there. Or
jumped from up there. You get it. I forgot how Heels died, but Marble
boy was her son, and whe she brought men to her room, she'd lock Marble
Boy on the roof where he played with (duh) marbles until it was okay
for him to come back down. But when she was killed, she obviously never
went back to get him, and so he died too. From what I hear, Marble Boy
is harmless...he just rolls his marbles. And it sounds like a pencil
hitting a desk and rolling off, like clink roll. But Heels likes to
scare the shit out of people. At least, I think. I didn't recall much
about the Heels stories. And the jumper story I'm SURE is
over-exadured, but it's still good, so I'll tell it.
So, I think there were these girls that lived in Heel's room, room 601,
and she had been scaring them and crap, so two of their boy buddies
offered to let them spend the night with them because, you know, the
girls were freaked. So, another girl came to join them, this geek girl
who no one liked. The boys teased her until she ran out in tears. As a
joke, after she left, the boys drew a crude picture of her jumping off
the building and hung it on the door. Right before they all fell
asleep, they heard a knock on the door. They ignored it. A louder
knock. Igorned that too. Then the door BURSTS open, flying off the
hinges, and they hear a scream, which was the geek girl jumping. Later,
when they lifted up the door, the picture was torn to shreads.
And there's the story of the little kid (I don't think it's Marble Boy,
though), who haunted these two girls so badly they wanted out of the
room. SCAD agrees to let them move, and as they're packing, the lights
keep going on and off. One gets freaked and leaves, and the other
starts to go to quickly get some stuff from the bathroom. But, in the
bathroom, is a little boy. He opens his mouth, and all the lights go
out. She turns and sees her reflection in the mirror, and there are all
these dark shapes of children all reaching for her. She SPRINTS out the
room, and when someone goes back later, there are all these children's
handprints on the mirror.
Moral of these stories- the 6th floor is bad. Never, EVER stay there.
But I'm fine on the 2nd. If there is a ghost there, I kinda like him.
He/she seems nice enough. Kinda like one of the ghosts from old-school
Mario. You know, the one that follows you when your back is turned, but
covers his eyes like 'You don't see me!' when you turn to see him. He
KINDA wants you to know he's there by doing small things, but doesn't
want to do anything like RAWR! I think. I suppose I could try to talk
to him by Ouiji, but Xavier, one of the RAs, said that was a REAL bad
idea because there's like a mixed bag here. It's so full of spirits
here in Savannah, he made a board out of a piece of paper and penny and
it worked fine. But there's a creepy little girl he talked to who kept
saying '666', so I don't think I'll do that. No no no. o.o
But I still wish I knew what to call him/her if there is anything there. It feels like it'd only be polite. o.o
Oh, and I know one of the other dorms, Weston, is haunted by a small
boy who was electrocuted. Sounds like all he does is mess with
electronics and leave small puddles near radiators. And I know Walin, a
Foundations building, is haunted, but I didn't get details. I was more
worried about John Smith at the Abcorn graveyard 'coz we filmed near
his grave. I still need to ask Michelle if there was anything on that
film...
But I'll get to that next entry. I'll do Savannah ghost stories after I
hear them tomorrow after I go on a ghost tour. Yaaayyyyy ghost tour! ^^
